20 Feb Are you clear?
As a Personal Development Coach I enjoy the process of identifying goals and creating an action plan to achieve them. I appreciate the practical tools I have learned along the way to get results. However, there’s another side of me. The side of me that believes in magic and the power of the Universe. I always had a fascination and connection to the moon. After reading “Moonology” by Yasmin Boland I finally figured out why – the moon is magical when it comes to manifesting!
Definition of Manifest:
To show something clearly, through signs or action.
(Cambridge English Dictionary)
Tonight, I had the pleasure of leading a group of women through a New Moon Ritual. The New Moon is the first day of the lunar cycle, where the moon is completely dark. It appears this way because it is positioned between the earth and the sun, blocking the sun’s light from the side of the moon we see from our vantage point on Earth.
For manifesting purposes, this is considered a new beginning which makes it the ideal time to be intentional about what you want to create moving forward. Even if you’re not into magic, ritual, astrology, etc… I recommend using the New Moon as a cue to sit down and write a 4-week plan for your goals. Doing a monthly check in with yourself around your goals and desires will benefit you and a little “planetary alignment” can’t hurt, right?
I wanted to write a post about clarity and I feel like the New Moon is a good time to do so because you need to be clear about what you want (and why) if you’re going to manifest your dreams or accomplish your goals. If you’ve been following my blog and doing some self-reflection work in the process, I am hoping you have achieved some clarity around:
- What you need in order to become the most you can be.
- The benefits of acceptance.
- The importance of mindful living for Personal Development.
- What Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual wellness means to you.
- What you value and why.
- How to choose your commitments in order to live in alignment with your values.
- Where you can take some risks in order to achieve your goals.
All of this leads to being clear about who you are and who you want to become, giving you a foundation for your manifesting practice. You can now set intentions, make wishes or create goals that are in alignment with your needs, values and commitments on your path toward self-actualization.
Picture yourself on a boat and the ocean represents life. Calm waters and clear skies make for a smooth journey. However, conditions can change and you can be challenged physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. A hurricane can symbolize a physical injury or emotionally traumatic experience, whereas darkness and thick fog can represent a mental health issue or lack of spiritual guidance. Clarity is the lighthouse that can lead you back to shore.
Here are some ideas to get you started on your journey to clarity:
- Improve your physical health.
- Declutter and get organized.
- Take care of your mental health.
- Make time for introspection through meditation or journaling.
- Feel, express and release your emotions.
- Pursue experiences that bring you joy and gratitude.
- Create rituals that connect you to your higher power, based on your personal beliefs.
- Spend time in nature, bring the elements into your home.
- Drink more water.
- Sleep well.
